Hydrothermal Gold
This image shows the surface of a gold foil reacted with silver chloride
in a hydrothermal experiment. The structures on the surface are actually pits,
but the orientation of the shadows makes them appear as positive features.
These samples were grown by Dr. Chris Gammons of Mcgill.
